So precious
18 critically endangered Irrawaddy dolphins spotted by WWF
Conservation group WWF said it spotted 18 critically endangered Irrawaddy dolphins in Indonesian waters off Borneo island Tuesday and called for greater protection of the species’ habitat.
There is little data on the Irrawaddy dolphin — which resembles the common bottlenose dolphin but has no beak and a snub dorsal fin — and no comprehensive survey has been conducted to measure its global population.
“In the past, locals and fishermen reported seeing the dolphins, but we have never recorded them until now,” WWF conservation biologist Albertus Tjiu told AFP. (Photo: David Dove/WWF Greater Mekong/AFP/Getty Images)
Living in a different country doesn’t mean I’m subjected to eating only the national foods of the culture. In fact it’s quite the opposite. For my housemate and I food is our trophy at the end of a longggggg day in the battle zone…
Our Themes Include

Fruity Fridays
On the Saturdays the missionary group cooks together.
Last week’s Fruity Friday I made this concoction…pineapple, lime, water, powdered juice and some bitters! That went down so good, that I decided to make it for Sabbath lunch on Friday.
Today I attempted to make roti…buss up shot to be that exact. It was not a total fail but it didn’t come out the way that it should have…entonces (then) next week Friday I’ll be back to the grind with my British Jamaican counterpart.
It’s a pity that for the most part all I can do is talk with my students
5. Talking about behavior instead of doing something about it.
Teachers who struggle with classroom management tend to talk endlessly about behavior. They hold class meetings. They hash things out. They revisit the same tired topic over and over, much to their students’ eye-rolling chagrin. Effective classroom management is about action. It’s about doing and following through and holding students accountable. It isn’t about talking.

I started a blog before coming to Honduras 5 months ago and to be honest I only posted 2 updates on a previous blog. It’s not that my time here isn’t interesting but I wasn’t motivate or just simply didn’t have the time to post. I know my title is a bit cliche but it’s also a fact. I still have so much more to learn and so much to share about my experience as a Trinidadian voluntary missionary teacher at a bilingual school in Comayagua, Honduras. Stay tune as I share my joy, pain and triumphant tales.
